The story takes Emily beyond just Paris, especially Rome and Venice all while tying back to her life in France. A big part of this season takes place in Rome because Emily is asked to lead a new branch of her marketing agency, Agence Grateau there. The show was actually filmed at a location in Rome on historic streets and famous landmarks. The scenery that you see on your screen is actually Rome. Gabriel accepts a job as a private chef on a yacht and learns that Emily is once again single. He sends a postcard inviting her out to Greece. Meanwhile, Mindy, Emily’s best friend is on and off with Alfie and Nico. In Venice, Nico proposes to Mindy with a ring and she says yes! But her feelings are still there for Alfie and create tension in the finale. Netflix announced renewal for season six in early 2026, shortly after season five was released. The renewal came with strong viewership, season five reached millions of viewers worldwide as well as hitting top spots in multiple countries. Although a release date for season six has not been announced yet. Many suggest it won’t arrive until late 2026 or early 2027.
