A Hawaiian Hoco
October 22, 2019
Aloha everyone! As you already know, Homecoming is over and that means no more themes, however, we can look back on the fun we had homecoming week. This year’s theme was a Hawaiian Hoco and the week spelled out aloha, Monday: American Day, Tuesday: Lazy Day, Wednesday: On Wednesdays We Wear Pink, Thursday: Hawaiian Day, Friday: All About Warren. On American Day, students showed off their red, white, and blue wear, on Tuesday warren kids showed how bummy they could be by wearing their lazy day outfits, Wednesday students showed their love for Mean Girls by going all out wearing their pink when students at O’plaine had their homecoming pep rally. Unfortunately, the sophomores did not win due to disqualification. Thursday, students were taken to the Aloha state when greeted with leis and alohas on Hawaiian day while wearing their best tropical fits, and, finally, students showed how much of loyal Warrenite they are by wearing their warren gear. That same Friday, warren had their big homecoming game against Zion-Benton our blue devils showed them bees who’s boss. Congratulations to our football team!
The most important thing we have to discuss is, of course, the homecoming dance! Let me give you a behind the scenes look at how much work the Student Council had to do to make sure that everything looked nice for the dance. StuCo wanted to make you feel like you were in that warm climate of Hawaii with the palm trees, the flowers, and the smoothie bar in the corner. They wanted to give you a night you would never forget, and, from me and my fellow councilmen, we wanted to give you a big thank you for coming out and having a great night. I know you want to know how the dance was. So I’ll tell you through my eyes. Homecoming for me was amazing. I enjoyed it, even more, knowing that I got to help out and decorate for the big day. Walking in with my friends and seeing everyone enjoy how the decorations looked put a smile on my face. I had a fabulous time dancing with my friends and jamming out to some pretty good music. Overall, this hoco was one to remember, and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. Until next time, Aloha!
