Black Gold

Swetha Mathai, Staff Writer

Blood, loss, life, tonight
War, cries, memories that fright
Anger, torture, flee your identity
Energy wasted for the unworthy

These walls come crumbling down brick by brick
Darkness swallowing the Earth with no outlet
When will it stop from turning into madness
This world is worth more than being worthless

Stories untold
Begging for more
They’re the ones that go
To stop the world from sinking into black gold
Almost reach the heart’s core
The veil has been torn
To stop the world from sinking into black gold
