BODIES BODIES BODIES – Film Review

BODIES+BODIES+BODIES+-+Film+Review

I would like to start this review off by saying this will be VERY biased as this FILM holds a very special place in my heart. I don’t know if it was the mix of Rachel Sennot’s “Alice”, the humor of the film, and the fact I may or may not have streamed “Hot Girl” by Charli XCX, the song that plays in the credits of this film, 800 times in a two week span. Suffice to say I love this film.

Bodies Bodies Bodies is a comedy horror movie that depicts a group of rich 20-somethings (and Greg) at a “hurricane party”, a party they decided to throw during a hurricane, where their game of “Werewolf” goes horribly wrong.

Alright, the film’s biggest strength is its humor. From the attempts by all the characters attempting to stay PC in the face of literal death to the argument that happens during the climax. This movie is hilarious, and if you watch this movie with a straight face the entire time, I don’t trust you. This film also does a great job at balancing humor while still maintaining a tense environment throughout the film. This is helped by the fact this film has a great score, which matches the story so well. It is eerie and distorted which helps contrast the unseriousness of the characters. The cinematography at the start of the film is very wide to show things like the huge hills you have to take to get to the house, or while in the house the camera follows one of the characters in a way that shows how out of place they feel being there. During the hurricane itself, the camera was shaky and almost claustrophobic. There were many close ups of characters faces, handheld tracking shots, and medium shots that all contrast the intro to this movie where everything was meant to show everything. Now the camera was more focused on the person rather than the location they are in. Lastly, THE ACTING! Oh my stars! It’s so perfect that every actor plays their characters perfectly. And now onto the things this film does poorly.

No Notes. This FILM is the perfect movie for a date, movie night, or for when you wanna just have a good time. 100000/5 HE’S A LIBRA MOON THAT SAYS A LOT!
