Warren Township High School’s Future Business Leaders of America sponsored a board game and toy drive called “Games 4 Gurnee” this year. Along with the help of over 60 FBLA members in the community service committee, co-chairs Snehitha Talugula and Pritika Sharma, organized two collection drives from December 2, 2017 to December 9, 2017 and from December 30, 2017 to January 6, 2018. The game drive began because the co-chairs sought to impact the community in a meaningful way, and a game drive was something that had never been done before.

The Games 4 Gurnee game drive concluded quite successfully with over 250 games collected. The amount of support the drive received from the community was amazing and much appreciated by FBLA and the Warren community. Collection boxes were placed at the Warren Township High School’s O’Plaine and Almond campuses, the Hunt Club Community Center, Eye Level Learning Center, Jewel Osco in Gurnee, Bethel Lutheran Church, FitNation, and Chinmaya Mission. Collected games were donated to the Gurnee Park District, Woodland Schools, KinderCare, the Warren Township Teen Center, and Sunrise Assisted Living Center. FBLA members who dropped off the games said that staff and children, along with the elderly at Sunrise, were ecstatic upon receiving them. The smiles on their faces motivate the community service committee to continue this Games 4 Gurnee game drive for another year!
