Bonjour! Comment ça va? Hello, how are you? Would you like to learn about the French culture around the world and also eat sweet treats with your friends? Warren Township High School has a French club/French Honors society, sponsored by French teacher, Madam Mason. It’s a cultural based activity, meaning that all Warren Township students are welcome to become a member of the club. If you like leading, planning, organizing and helping your peers then you are a fit to become a member of the club which meets 1-2 times a month. French Club is open to all students at both campuses who are interested; students do not need to be in a French class.
They welcome everyone at monthly general meetings and events. All events are planned and organized by a group of student officers: Giana David, Gael Reyna, James Kotsinis, Allison Bumagat, and many other junior/senior students. In response to what the motive was to start the French club, Mrs. Mason stated, “French Club provides students opportunities to supplement what they learn in French class and expand their knowledge of and experience with French culture; French Honors Society was to recognize students for their academic excellence in French and to promote the French language and culture.”
The French club provides opportunities and activities for students to learn about and celebrate culture from around the French-speaking world, “I don’t go to French club every time it’s hosted, but I have been once or twice and I liked it. Everyone was friendly and we ate some ‘bussin’ snacks,” says a student. If you are interested in either of these organizations or still have questions, feel free to email Madam Mason at [email protected].
