SPOILERS AHEAD
Summary of Episode 7 “What Have I Done?”
The Episode starts off by showing the aftermath of the Battle between Angstrom Levy and Invincible in the season 2 finale. It was implied that Angstrom passed away after Mark left. But it shows a heavily scarred Angstrom crawling through one of his portals to seek help from the Technicians. It then cuts to the iconic image of the 18 Invincible variants flying through Angstrom’s portals. A montage of the variants reeking havoc across the world is then shown.

Throughout the episode we are finally introduced to multiple characters from the comics. The fan loved Tech Jacket finally makes his appearance for a couple of seconds fighting with Mustache Mark in outer space. Other heroes like Kid Thor, Best Tiger, and Brit were also finally introduced fending off the Invincible Variants. While many new characters were introduced, some heroes were lost in the process. After No-Goggles-Mark defeated the Guardians of the Globe, Darkwing sacrificed himself to take the variant down by going into the Shadow-verse. What hurt many fans was the Death of Rex-Splode. Retro Mark was giving Teen Team a hard time which was when Rex-Splode came in. He held off Retro Mark while the rest of the Teen Team escaped. Rex put up a good fight but was eventually taken down by the variant. As a final move, Rex charged his own skeleton, blowing up both himself and Retro Mark.
In the middle of the chaos, Atom-Eve and the main Invincible fended off Hood-Vincible and Omni-Mark. Invincible has a hard time fending off the two variants while protecting Atom-Eve. Eventually he is overwhelmed and Omni-Mark heavily injures Atom-Eve. Before anything worse can happen, Cecil sends in his Reanimen to occupy the two variants and get Atom-Eve and Invincible to safety.

After 3 days a homage to the iconic panel of the 8 Invincible variants is shown. The variants that survived were Mohawk-Mark, Sinister-Mark, Omni-Mark, Maskvincible, Prisoner-Mark, Viltrumite-Mark, Emperor-Mark, and No-Mask-Mark. The 8 variants wait for Angstrom’s orders and converse with each other, sharing their own motivations. Angstrom finally arrives but is met with 8 impatient Invincibles. After the Variants agree to take control of Angstrom. Angstrom anticipates this and sends the variants to a deserted planet. Shortly after, the main Invincible rushes toward Angstrom with nothing but pure wrath. Angstrom takes the upper hand in the beginning of the fight with his drone balls but then runs out of them. Invincible then gets a hold of Angstrom. Oliver then arrives and begs Mark to end Angstrom. After agreeing, Mark prepares to end him which was when Angstrom was able to slip away. Angstrom narrowly escapes while losing his arm. He then orders the Technicians to fix him but was instead turned into a slave of the Technicians.
Earth was left in shambles with many of the big cities being leveled. Amidst the destruction are multiple heroes helping with reconstruction. Invincible and Oliver help the other heroes which was when Powerplex confronts Invincible once again. Invincible and Oliver quickly pacify Powerplex while he rants about how all this destruction is Invincible’s fault. While Powerplex cries being carried away Mark feels all the guilt. Mark then lays on a piece of debris which was when a looming shadow came over him. The Iconic line “Stand ready for my arrival, Worm” comes out of Conquest’s mouth. The grieving Mark blindly picks a fight with Conquest and the episode ends with the two gunning for each other.

Summary of Episode 8 “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up”
Episode 8 continues off from the end of episode 7. Mark quickly regrets his decision to fight Conquest as he is easily thrown around. During their battle, much more destruction occurs comparable to the Invincible Vs Omni-Man fight. Debbie and Oliver see the fight on the news. Debbie tells Oliver to be careful when he then rushes toward the battle. Oliver at first has a hard time keeping up with the two but was eventually able to land a good hit on Conquest. Oliver then rushes conquest again but is easily smacked like a fly by Conquest. Conquest then stretches Oliver apart, putting him in agonizing pain. Before anything worse happens, Mark rushes into Conquest and saves Oliver. Oliver is taken in by Cecil and Conquest throws Mark around more. Conquest injures Mark’s leg which was when an injured Atom-Eve comes onto the scene. Eve shows off the true potential of her power and keeps Conquest occupied for a while. Conquest eventually tears through Eve’s defenses and horribly Injures her. Mark cries for Cecil to help Eve. Mark promises to end Conquest to which he thanks Mark for giving him such a good time as he never gets to cut this loose. The two charge towards each other once more. Mark’s hand snaps on impact with Conquest’s gauntlet smashing into pieces. Mark goes berserk, landing a few hits on Conquest and even biting him to get loose. While the two clash more, Atom Eve’s body then starts to glow pink which distracts Mark. Conquest pins down Mark and reveals his true feelings. Conquest vents about how lonely he feels because he is a monster compared to the other Viltrumites. He vents about how he feels like he is only a weapon being used. No one cares for him. He tells Mark this believing he would take it to his grave. Eve then fully wakes up and shoots a powerful energy beam at conquest, severely burning him in the process. Conquest gets up but is quickly put down by Mark. Before Mark could punch him more he breaks Mark’s other hand. With no hands to punch Conquest, Mark headbutts Conquest many times until he is unconscious. A brutally injured Mark and tired Eve lie down together when Cecil and the other heroes show up.

Mark lies in a hospital bed with Eve and his family by his side. Cecil orders Sinclair to finish the Invincible Reanimen because of the events that had just occurred. A bunch of heroes show up to Rex’s funeral honoring his legacy. Robot changes his name to Rex to honor his friend. Mark and Eve embrace each other, happy to survive all the unfortunate events. The episode then Ends with a bunch of teasers for the next season. The Sequids, Angstrom and the Technicians, Battle Beast, and Damien Darkblood are all shown to have story-lines in the next part.
Review of the finale
The final two episodes of season 3 were undoubtedly the most eventful out of the series. Amazon did not disappoint and created arguably the best episodes the show has ever put out. The animation was on a whole different level. Making up for the lackluster animation in previous episodes(now we know where the budget went). Stephen Yeun did a terrific job voicing the variants. Being able to create distinguishable personalities for each one. The show changed up the variants a bit. They changed the role of Omni-Mark by making him one of the last Invincibles instead of him meeting his fate with a Yo-yo, which is probably a good decision because of how strong this variant is.

Many fans were at first disappointed with the casting of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Conquest. They thought his voice wasn’t deep and menacing enough for the character. But Morgan did not disappoint. He recorded many of his lines in the first take and added so much to the character. The show reshaped Conquest’s character by creating original dialogue. Plus it was a rematch between the characters Glenn and Negan from The Walking Dead(another story written by Kirkman).
Post Credit scene and the future of Invincible
SOME COMIC SPOILERS AHEAD

After Mark defeats Conquest and all the heroes mourn the death of Rex-Splode, an old face reappears, Damien Darkblood, trapped in Hell due to Cecil banishing him with an ancient spell. Summoning his lord, Darkblood tells his lord of a being with abilities far exceeding anything seen in eons, abilities that would be able to put his lord back on the throne of Hell.
This post credit scene is very different from previous ones, due to the fact that it’s a TV-original scene. Originally Robert Kirkman (Invincible creator) wanted to make a Hell story-line but his editors disagreed with it, ultimately shelving it. However, due to the popularity of Invincible and Kirkman’s stronger control over the TV show, he can now show the story-line he was never allowed to when working on the comics.
However, due to the Hell story-line never being explored, we do not have a definitive idea of what it will entail, but we can still speculate. Two main ideas of the plot that seem to be the most likely is, Mark being summoned to hell to help the lord retake Hell or Oliver being the one to help retake Hell. In the first scenario, Mark is summoned to Hell and is asked to help reconquer hell, of course Mark being a hero, he likely wouldn’t be so open to the idea. So the second scenario has Oliver being summoned to Hell, and since he is younger and has shown to be more rash, it’s more likely he’d agree. Since Oliver is taken away suddenly, Mark would likely try to find Oliver and possibly go to Hell to save Oliver. The second plot seems to be more likely.

Invincible’s suit being melted by a rainbow liquid, due to the powers of Atom Eve becoming erratic. Later in the comics it is revealed that Atom Eve was pregnant and during her pregnancy, her powers became erratic due to the child’s existence, with her pregnancy playing a huge role in her character development in the comics.

As the final episodes of Invincible aired, many fans already are ready and wanting for more. Many believe due to the fact that Atom Eve got her own mini-series between season 1 and season 2, other characters should have their own time to shine in their own mini-series/episode, examples like, Rex-Splode, Tech Jacket, and Battle Beast, just naming a few. As for the plot for these stories, Rex-Splode’s backstory, which has already been delved into in the comics could be one, Tech Jacket’s series based on the Tech Jacket comics, and one for Battle Beast, exploring his many battles and love for fighting. Any of these would keep the Invincible fan base excited and ready for the next season.
Stand ready for THRAGG, Grand Regent of the Viltrumites.
Episode 7 “What Have I done?” and Episode 8 “I Thought You’d Never Shut Up” received audience scores of 9.7/10 and 9.9/10 according to IMBD; These scores are some of the highest the series has seen and the highest in IMBD history.

Invincible Season 4 will return sometime in 2026 with the voice acting confirmed to be finished.
