Jacob Flores’s “Dementia” visually symbolizes the effects of dementia and what a person who lives with it may experience. Wanting to illustrate and better understand the syndrome that causes impaired cognitive abilities, Jacob used an “illusion technique” to give this piece a “blurry yet clarified image of what dementia may look like.”
