2024 is going to be a huge year for artists and music lovers. A lot of unexpected releases are going to happen, including Dua Lipa, Playboi Carti, and Ariana Grande. Many artists are choosing to change their genre to country, specifically Beyoncé and Lana Del Rey. No matter what the reviews are, this will end up being a huge year for music.
Starting off with by far the most anticipated album, The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift. Taylor was able to fool her audience into thinking she was re-releasing her previous album, Reputation, by using the same color scheme. The album will most likely be emotional and angsty. The release date is April 19th, but she might release a song early.
Lana Del Rey confused her audience when she announced her new album, Lasso, that comes out in the fall. No one expected her to release a country album, but she did drop hints when she covered some country songs. She announced this album at the Billboard awards on January 31st. However, Lana is known for pushing off albums and changing the names, so the name Lasso could change in the future.
Beyoncé, one of the biggest names in the music industry, is also coming out with a country album. She dropped the first song on February 11th and then announced the album release date as March 29th. Despite internet criticisms, it debuted as #1 on the Country Music Charts. Beyoncé’s popularity allows her to change her music and still end up on top. The album was truly announced at the Super Bowl. She released two songs that are included on the album and announced the date itself on February 11th. Verizon partnered with her on a Super Bowl ad where she alluded to new music, making fans go crazy due to the large viewing of the Super Bowl.
There are also lots of rumors about possible albums from Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean, and SZA. These artists have gained lots of popularity over recent years, and fans are ready for a new album. The last time Frank Ocean dropped an album was 2016, an album that still to this day has songs constantly being used all over social media. Billie Eilish, on the other hand, supposedly has finished her 3rd studio album, but we don’t have a release date yet. SZA has announced her new album, Lana, which fans are very excited for, but again, we don’t have a date or time period for when she’ll drop it.
