A Quest for Your Palette

Jason Rosegay, Head Chef: WTHS

Warren Township High School has a new food service provider starting this school year. It is Quest Food Management Services, which is a locally based company.  Quest Food Service Management services began operations in Chicagoland, serving K-12 institutions, nearly 30 years ago with a focus on providing fresh food and personal service.

At Quest, we have been cooking from scratch since day one. The food “revolution” is not new to us, and it’s not a fad we’re chasing. It’s who we are and what we do and has been since we were founded.  We buy whole ingredients and cook them.  We train our team on how to use whole ingredients in a variety of ways to introduce variety and innovation on a constant basis.  And we have a strong commitment to ensuring a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables are available and affordable for students throughout the day.

A cornerstone of our programs is student input in each meal they eat. Our program with continue to be based on a variety of assemble to order or cook to order concepts that again mirror other consumer experiences they have.  Where a base of fresh, wholesome ingredients can be put together in a multitude of ways every day to ensure students get exactly what they want and allows for a wide range of dietary needs to be met.

We are passionate about food and we believe in wholesome nutritious ingredients. That is why we are committed to using items that are healthier for both our bodies and the planet.

We do this by:
Writing menus that feature seasonal and regionally available ingredients.
Sourcing from local farmers and small producers, and by participating in year-round community sourced agriculture (CSA) programs.
Serving sensible portions of animal proteins.
Offering a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
Purchasing sustainable seafood that follows the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program recommendations.
Sourcing milk that is local and free of added growth hormones.
Using trans-fat free oils, including non-GMO soy oil that are produced in a green facility in Michigan
Never using MSG
By purchasing with these standards in mind and preparing items so that they will be as fresh as possible when served, we support local agriculture, increase nutrition and intensify flavor.

We look forward to serving Warren Township High School for many school years to come.
