The Sophomore Girls Volleyball team season quickly came to an end October 18th, when they went against Zion. The girls sadly lost their last game but had a great season leading up to it. They played a total of 35 games and competed in 5 tournaments.
According to Sophomore Pilar Hill, they had a great season. “It’s been very fun and a wonderful learning experience. We’ve definitely grown better as a team.” She explains how well the team’s dynamic has improved as well.
I also got the opportunity to talk with Coach Swanson, who said that “This is one of my favorite teams I have ever coached. The girls always came into practice and games with a great attitude, and worked hard every day. I could not have asked for a better group of girls.”
She also mentioned how the girls have grown as a whole. “In my opinion, the sophomore level is all about working to improve your overall skills individually and as a team, and these girls showed up daily ready to compete and do what they needed to do to improve.”
They wrap up the rest of the season with a banquet on Saturday. It’s a bittersweet ending, but everyone is pleased in the end with how the season went.
