The long awaited day for music has finally arrived. Spotify Wrapped came out on December 4th which is later than they usually release. Spotify Wrapped includes a personal recording of how many minutes, top artists, and top songs each Spotify user has accumulated over the past year. This release also includes the top songs and artists of all Spotify users to figure out who and what was most popular each year. Here’s a description of each one.
Starting off with the top artists of 2024. Number one comes with no surprise as it’s Taylor Swift. With over 26.6 billion streams globally it was obvious that after the year she had, she would come out as number one.
After Taylor Swift the list continues with The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, Billie Eilish, Travis Scott, Peso Pluma, Kanye West, Ariana Grande, and Feid. All of these talented artists have made their mark on the music industry this past year. Most of them have released more new music and songs and quickly ran up the music charts.
As well as recording the top artists globally Spotify also records the most streamed songs. Sabrina Carpenter has had an amazing year in music. She released lots of music, went on tour, had many brand deals, and continues making her mark on pop music. This being said, the top song of 2024 is “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. As of today this song has almost 2 billion streams and was only released on April 11th 2024. Coming after “Espresso” is “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone, “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” by Billie Eilish, “Gata Only” by FloyyMenor and Cris Mj, “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims, “End of Beginning” by Djo, “Too Sweet” by Hozier, “One of the Girls” by The Weeknd with JENNIE and Lily Rose Depp, “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift, and finally “Die With A Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.
Every year Spotify Wrapped day is beloved by over 626 million users worldwide. It’s a day to look back on the entire year and see how music has affected the world. Hopefully next year it’ll be released earlier.
