Auditions for the 2017 edition of Supershow are coming up on December 1st and 2nd!

Supershow, which is hosted by International Club, is Warren’s talent and cultural showcase held yearly at the end of January. Its main objective is to promote the diversity at WTHS in regard to unique skills and backgrounds of students. Although many acts are cultural, there are also many acts that are unrelated to culture! Supershows in the past have featured a cultural fashion show, slam poetry, song, dance, and more! Of course, International Club is always looking to expand its showcase, so even if your talent hasn’t been mentioned, try out anyway.  Take a chance; you never know what might happen.

If stage performance isn’t your thing, you can also work behind the scenes or walk the runway for the cultural fashion show. (Unfortunately, by the time this is published, the teams for those two will already be set.) Supershow is a great opportunity to get involved with the school through such an inclusive event, but it also promotes a good cause. All proceeds from the show go directly to charity. The money raised from Supershows 2015 and 2016 both went to the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple, which in turn sent that money overseas to underprivileged schools to raise money for basic school supplies such as chairs and desks.

Supershow is a fantastic event to be a part of, whether you’re performing, working backstage, or just attending. If you plan on auditioning for the show, make sure to be at the O’Plaine Auditorium at 3:30pm on Thursday, December 1st, or Friday, December 2nd. Auditions are open this year, so there’s no need to fill out an application; just show up! If you’re just planning on attending, make sure to mark your calendars for Friday, January 27th!
