As the great Uncle Ben once said, “With great power comes great responsibility,” but in this case, with great patience, comes great reward. Being one of the most highly anticipated movies to hit theaters this year, Marvel Studios’ ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ is slated to release on December 17th. Starring an ensemble of actors and actresses that consists of Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya and Benedict Cumberbatch. The collaboration of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures leads to the surprising addition of old stars from previous installments, such as Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. This movie picks up from where it left off in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, which came out in 2019. Ever since then, the movie has gained so much attention and has even gotten fans to develop their own theories about this film. The most popular theory out there is the return of those who have taken on the mantle of our favorite web-slinging hero. Of course, we’re referring to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. This film is set to kick off the newly established Phase Four of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), which focuses on multiversal concepts. It is rumored that this film will tie into the upcoming 2022 film ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ as well as series that are exclusively on Disney Plus, such as ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Loki’. It appears that the MCU is being more heavily influenced by its source materials — the comic books. According to an article written by Sarah Witten on CNBC, she writes, “This kind of fervor has not been seen at the box office since 2019 when advanced tickets for titles like ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ went on sale,” when tickets were sold on November 29th, which Marvel referred to as “Spider-Monday.” Movie theaters such as AMC have partnered with Sony Pictures in order to allow for more showings through promotions, which will definitely help increase sales, ensuring a successful spot in the box office. With this movie coming out, we can expect more Spider-Man related content swinging its way to us next year. 2022 will give us the long-awaited continuation to 2018’s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,’ and Insomniac Games’ sequel to its award-winning ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ video game, exclusive to the PlayStation console. So, go grab your Spidey suits, get your nice, buttery popcorn, and jump into the action with this movie that will definitely make your spider senses activate!
