The Coachella of Chicago

Natives of the greater Chicagoland area hear much about the musical festival called “Lollapalooza” that takes place every August. Festivals like Lollapalooza offer star-studded headliners day after day.  In exchange for  $120 for a one day pass or $335 for a four day general admission pass, attendees may end hearing up to 45 different performers in a single day.

On Thursday, August 3, 2017, iconic artists such as Lorde and Wiz Khalifa headline the Grant Park festival.   While such names will likely draw crowds of incomparable magnitude, the lesser known Migos, Jon Bellion, and Liam Gallagher should garner interest from the Thursday population. The Killers, Blink-182, and Foster the People top the Friday list of the 4th. West Chatam native, Chance the Rapper, makes his Lollapalooza debut on Saturday, alongside the indie Alt-J and the XX.  The festival comes to a halt on that Sunday the 6th, but not without going out in a bang with the hottest attractions including Lil Yachty, Big Sean, Tove Lo, and Arcade Fire.

Alongside beloved Chicagoan rapper Chance, and other A-List rappers highlight Lollapalooza.  Wiz Khalifa, Migos, Chance, Lil Yachty, and Big Sean all are among the top rappers in 2017, so rap fans should pour into the city in early August.

Upwards of two hundred thousand individuals attend Lollapalooza each summer.  Considering our proximity to Chicago, attending the festival for even a single day would be a worthwhile experience.  Hopefully, you can find some cheap seats.
