In a moss-draped, enchanted glen,
Beyond the reach of mortal men,
A wizard dwells with silver beard,
Among the whispers, soft and weird.
His cloak is spun of twilight threads,
With stars that shimmer as he treads,
Through mushroom rings that softly glow,
In rhythms only night can know.
The forest hums a mystic tune,
Beneath the watchful eyes of moon,
Where mosses weave a velvet floor,
And secrets dance from spore to spore.
One twilight eve, by fern and bark,
He saw her form, a sylvan spark—
A maiden of the forest deep,
Who woke the dreams he’d let to sleep.
Her hair, a cascade, wild and free,
Her eyes, the depths of ancient sea,
She moved with grace through cedar air,
A fleeting wisp, beyond compare.
.
The wizard, bound by spells of old,
Felt something new, both warm and bold,
A love that stirred the forest still,
And bent the world to match his will.
He wove his magic, soft and kind,
With threads of light and hearts entwined,
Around her, moss and bloom did twine,
A love eternal, rare, divine.
In mushroom circles, hand in hand,
They danced beneath the starlit land,
Their hearts a tapestry of lore,
Bound by the grove forevermore.
So if you wander, soft of tread,
Through forest paths where dreams are fed,
Listen close, the whispers say—
The wizard and his love still play.
Is magic real or fake? Many people are real believers in the supernatural while others are skeptics. Whichever side is right, one thing is for sure, stories about tales of fantasy woven with spells and sorcery have captured the hearts of readers for generations. Which is why Crystal Vo’s “The Wizard’s Grove” has captivated all of our members from Creations Magazine. A comment that one such staff member, Rania Hamid, made was, “I really enjoyed the metaphor with the spores!” The carefully crafted metaphor’s and similies draw thoughtful comparisons to the most unlikely of things. Vo is able to tell such a compelling story through the medium of poetry, a skill not mastered by many. Vo’s use of imagery paints the scene of a mystical forest and evokes the feelings of the characters she created. Overall, on behalf of all the Creation’s staff we want to thank you, Crystal Vo, for your creative input to our magazine. It will make an excellent addition when we’re published.
Additionally, on February 21st Creations is hosting Open Mic Night at the Warren Township Center. Make sure you buy your tickets at GoFans by scanning the QR codes around the buildings.
