Fashion Marketing is a business elective that students can take at the O’plaine campus. In this class, students learn the basics of marketing in the fashion industry. These basics help these students learn how to be creative, quick thinkers, and express themselves. In this class, students have done multiple projects including: designing their own magazine and ad, creating a store layout, Homecoming trend posters, fashion decade projects, and have done a fashion designer project of their choosing. At the moment, students are starting their bleach painting project. For background information, bleach painting is a form of art where you take bleach and use it on a piece from your closet.
This year, fashion marketing has decided to change it up a little bit and is letting the kids have full freedom of what they use. Students are bringing all kinds of items like shirts, pants, skirts, ties, hats, shorts, socks, etc. Most, if not all, of the students have never done bleach painting before, so this is a very exciting and expressive project.
Overall, fashion marketing is a very inclusive class that takes from pro’s to beginners in the fashion world to learn how to use their creative voices to make a difference in not only their lives, but others as well.

In conclusion, our fashion marketing students all did a great job. Above we have some designs that students made. Maybe you’ll be the next designer? My personal experience with this project is that it has been a relief to me because it’s taken me from the mindset that everything must be done flawlessly to the mindset of the greats, which is that without mistakes, new learning can’t occur. If you have any more questions regarding this class, feel free to ask your counselor. That’s all, thank you for reading this article and Mrs. Veselack, the fashion marketing teacher, hopes to see you soon!
