Homecoming 2025 was definitely one to remember! Ranging from 9/29 – 10/3, the homecoming festivities were full of fun! Homecoming week began with a spirit week, then featured 2 pep rallies on Friday, an exciting football game, a fun-filled community parade, and finally an unforgettable dance! With a brand new location and new activities to do there, the Homecoming dance was definitely something to note!
First, Homecoming was transferred back to Almond this year, due to the O’Plaine construction on new locker rooms. Although having Homecoming at Almond is new in the last 4 years, Warren’s Homecoming used to be at Almond every year prior to COVID-19. Homecoming this year featured new games in the fieldhouse, including Bags, Jenga, Mega Connect 4, and light up Mini Golf. These activities were definitely hits, as when I was walking around Homecoming, there were always people playing the games offered. Another new addition was the Silent Disco in the Almond Black Box Theater. This also looked to be a hit, as many people went to try out the different stations and vibe with their friends! There were food trucks outside the main doors, with many different food options and desserts which were frequently visited by many Warren Students!
At Warren, we love to show our school spirit during Homecoming week, which began first with our pep rallies! At the rallies, there were multiple fun games provided by our Student Council, and special performances from the Cheerleaders and Devilettes. Also, our outstanding drum line performed and blew us away with their amazing beats and awesome skills. Now onto our Homecoming football game. The Blue Devils took on the Mustangs and had the lead over them 7-0 in the first half. The Devils really brought the heat in the second half where they conquered the Mustangs with a final score of 58-13.
The week leading up to HOCO is always fun – but stressful. For example, having to find the perfect outfit for the themes, finding people to go with, and even deciding if you are going to attend. That is why our Student Council came up with amazing spirit days that spelled out the word TANGO, to help us get into that Rio rhythm. Monday was Twin day, Tuesday was Airport outfits, Wednesday was Neon, Thursday was Go Wild (animal print), and Friday was Only blue and gold. To finish, the celebrations were then followed by our Homecoming parade down O’Plaine Road, on Saturday, before the dance. Many clubs and activities participated in the parade, and it was a great way to show the community all that Warren has going on!
Homecoming 2025 was amazing and will be one everyone will remember!
