As many of you may know, on Thursday November 6th, Starbucks got new merch from their 2025 winter collection; the Bearista cups. The cute glass bear cups were shipped to Starbucks locations around the country, and had major hype surrounding them, but consumers were quickly disappointed. Although they were in high demand, there was not nearly enough shipped to each store, which made stock run out quickly, leaving many underwhelmed. This has caused a frenzy, with people complaining that the stock ended so fast, and with even some complaints of the baristas having first pick of new shipments. 

But in the grand scheme of things, is a $30 glass bear cup REALLY worth it? Being glass and an odd shape, it is an impractical cup for everyday use. Also, this frenzy has caused many dupes to be discovered; and for much cheaper. People have claimed to have found similar items at Dollar Tree, Five Below, Amazon ,and even Aldi. So, does this cute cup really deserve the hype? 

Whether you think it does or doesn’t, some people certainly think so. Many people are reselling these cups for absurd prices way higher than their original, already high price of $30. Some people even waited in lines for hours or overnight just to try and secure one of these cups, only to leave empty handed. Nevertheless, Starbucks has succeeded at using these cups to promote themselves and advertise their business.
