Trust

Swetha Mathai, Staff Writer

I can’t help but feel pain
All over my body, my skin, my head, my blood, going insane
I lie on my bed and look up at the ceiling
Suddenly I see it spinning
How could I have been so vulnerable?
Believing every single word, so gullible
I wish I could turn back the clock
To times when I was never mocked

I trusted in you, every word you said
Every promise you ever made
I warned you about her
Don’t believe her words
She lacks authenticity
Shatters the masterpiece
You were the one I knew
I trusted you, what can I do?

I hope you learned your lesson
You can trust nobody
It’s better to be alone than to be lost in the eyes of somebody
I hope you take this lesson
Learn from it
And never do it again
