If you had just won the biggest award of your life, how would you celebrate? With family? With friends? While it is not a popular tradition, many actors have celebrated by visiting the local In-and-Out burger on Sunset Boulevard after the Oscars. This tradition gained popularity around 2005 when Hillary Swenk celebrated her best actress win with a big juicy hamburger. Swenk did not eat at an In-and-Out though, she visited another local fast food restaurant Astro Burger in west Hollywood. From then on other actors like Jaime Lee Curtis, and most recently Michael B Jordan continued the fast food tradition and visited In-and-Out Burger after their notable wins. The Sunset Boulevard location is the closest to the Dolby Theater where the Oscars take place and it’s the perfect stop for that midnight meal. Vanity Fair has often served those i
conic burgers at their Oscars After Party. This has encouraged actors, directors, and producers to get the perfect post-win reward. While most actors do not go into the restaurant and sit down to eat, Michael B Jordan did. Actors have not really gone in and sat down to eat because they would be swarmed with fans and not able to enjoy their meal in peace so they normally take it to go. While at the restaurant Michael B Jordan signed things for fans, took pictures, and most importantly enjoyed a double-double with fries accompanied by his newly acquired statuette. The most popular category that celebrates their win with a burger is Best Lead Actor since it is the most intense category. Other categories include Best Supporting Actor and Best Leading Actress. While the Oscar winners are best associated with this tradition, Emmy and Golden Globe winners are also known for celebrating with the famous burger. There were rumors that an In-and-Out Burger would be opening their doors in Naperville Illinois, but unfortunately it was later revealed that it is an April fools prank that tricked many people all over the internet.
